How to prepare for an adventure elopement

be prepared

Packing for an adventure elopement is not like packing for a typical hike. there are things you need to have for hiking, and eloping. Keep in mind you have to carry all your belongings in backpacks and it can get heavy! so prioritize what you need to bring?

Proper footwear:

If your elopement involves a hike, make sure you bring proper footwear (aka - hiking boots). I don't care how much "tread" you have on your dress boots, you need hiking boots. iF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY AND NEED TO BUY SOME, DON'T FORGET TO BREAK THEM IN BEFORE YOUR BIG DAY! tHAT WAY THEY ARE COMFORTABLE. YOU WON'T GET BLISTERS, AND YOU'RE USED TO THE FEELING OF THEM (tHEY'RE KNOWN FOR BEING A LITTLE.. CLUNKY..) DON'T FORGET PROPER SOCKS TOO! i RECOMMEND HIGH CREW SOCKS SO YOU DON'T GET BLISTERS ON THE BACKS OF YOUR ANKLES.

aTTIRE:

iF YOU WISH TO HIKE IN YOUR WEDDING ATTIRE, THAT'S YOUR DECISION AND WILL MAKE FOR BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS! HOWEVER, IF YOUR DESTINATION HAS A FAIRLY LONG OR STRENUOUS HIKE, i RECOMMEND NOT DOING THAT BECAUSE YOU WANT TO BE COMFORTABLE AND NOT HAVE TO OVER-WORK YOURSELF BY THE TIME YOU GET TO YOUR FINAL LOCATION. iF YOU ARE GOING TO HIKE IN COMFORTABLE CLOTHING AND CHANGE INTO YOUR ATTIRE ONCE YOU GET TO WHERE YOU ARE GOING, DON'T FORGET TO KEEP WEATHER CONDITIONS AND TERRAIN IN MIND WHEN CHOOSING YOUR HIKING OUTFITS. pRIORITIZE COMFORTABILITY AND DRESS FOR THE APPROPRIATE WEATHER.

wEDDING ESSENTIALS:

dON'T FORGET THE WEDDING ESSENTIALS! pACK THEM SAFELY SO THEY WON'T GET RUINED, ESPECIALLY DOCUMENTS, AND PACK ONLY WHAT YOU NEED SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO CARRY MORE THAN NECESSARY.

wEDDING ESSENTIALS:
Marriage licencse & Pen
⟶ Vow books/letters
⟶ Travel documents (If you are getting married somewhere you need a passport, etc)
⟶ Rings
⟶ Attire
⟶ Maps
⟶ Accessories that you wish to have detail photos taken of
⟶ Ceremonial items (I.e. rope for hand binding ceremony, sand for making a sand bottle together, etc.)

Food and drink:

make sure you don't forget these things! if you are not planning to dine at the location (maybe you're going to a restaraunt afterwards insteaD) make sure you still pack snacks like granola bars! hiking takes a lot of energy and the last thing you need is to be hangry! remember that what you pack in, you pack out!

Hiking packing list:

you don't have to have very single one of these items. keep in mind that every location is different and requires different things for convinience and safety. choose the items that are most applicable for your day!
